Greetings from Purgatory.

Today Hazel and I hopped onto a Metro and met Clark for lunch.  I lunched at the Pentagon.  Doesn't that sound like it should be the title of something? No? OK, suit yourself.  I had a wrap.  It was pretty yummy.  Who knew, right?  Then Clark walked us a round a bit...and by walked us around I mean I had no idea where I was at any given point.  The rooms and offices are designated by so many numbers and letters, I began questioning whether or not I really knew how to read.  Also, the receptionist may or may not have scolded Clark for walking me into the foyer of his office without giving her warning.  She started flipping pieces of paper over all over her desk and I suddenly felt guilty and ashamed without knowing why.  The foyer was where the tour stopped.  However, I fully intend to go back for an official tour of the pentagon where the sailor/soldier tour guide walks backwards without so much as a glance as to where he is going the entire time.  Last week Clark saw a new guy practicing his tour by walking backwards with a binder, memorizing his lines.  I'm serious, they never turn around and it is pretty awesome.  Also, they are in uniform which is also awesome.
Clark was off to a meeting after and walked Hazey and me back down to the metro.  He was leaving from upstairs and our train was down so we talked over a balcony while we both waited.  It kind of felt like I was in purgatory because he was up above, looking down and we were in a cave-like place and also it was really warm all the way down there.  "Promise me you'll visit!" was all I could think to say when imagining such a scenario.  And then we spent the rest of the time quoting Elaine from Seinfeld (in one my favorite episodes of all time by the way,) because it just seemed appropriate.
"David, I'm going to hell.  The worst place in the world,
with devils, and those caves...and the ragged clothing...and
the heat, my gosh, the heat!"

Just in case you missed it the first time:
Heaven,

Purgatory.
Says Elaine: "Don't worry, it will only feel like an eternity."

And just in case you were wondering why I was walking like the little guy from the dream sequence of Twin Peaks today, it's because I did a weight class yesterday that kicked my trash all over the place.  I can barely walk up and down the stairs and every time I sat down for even a moment today my muscles immediately atrophied.  It reminds me of the "great Cindy Crawford video" of 1994 where I broke more than one toilet paper dispenser off the wall because of my inability to stand up or sit down without assistance.  Anyway, just thought I would try and explain.  I would have linked that reference but it would freak you out...also you may wonder why in the world I was watching Twin Peaks when I was 12.  I wasn't [supposed to].  It was my sister's fault.

Clark thinks this would be an appropriate place to point out that no one was wondering about my walking today at all.  My bad.

I don't think I WAS wondering about your walking, but your reference to breaking the toilet paper dispenser off the wall was totally worth it.

I also think that I want to memorize something and walk backwards while reciting it, but I'm just not sure what.

Ok, I've been laughing for about 5 minutes now...from the Seinfeld exchanges to the Cindy Crawford video (which WAS a killer)...thanks for starting my day off with a smile. :)

If I walk backwards and try to talk at the same time - have compassion - and stop me! Why does purgatory look better than heaven .....more deception??? Love you!

Whenever I hear about the Pentagon in the news I wonder if Mr. Emily had something to do with it. I would love to see a walking backwards tour. I think I'm going to practice in my own house ... maybe not.

I've started Body Combat at my gym and I bet we have matching walks. I can barely move my legs (and arms for that matter).

I loved the whole thing--- so funny!

I do remember feeling that way after Cindy's workout-- every time I decided to try and get in shape again-- so I remember feeling sore lots and lots of times.

The Cindy Crawford Video...yes!
To this day whenever the word "lunge" is mentioned I think of that bloody video.
Whatever happened to her?
If she was smart she got out of the business altogether and is now raising a brood of children and spends her free time typing away to people about random things, in whom she will probably never meet, instead of making dinner.

I saw Cindy in a commercial for Propel sports water a few weeks ago. I had been wondering what had happened to her. I wonder if she ever pulls out a copy of her old workout (on VHS of course) and does her own workout. I mean, why keep paying Rashid? I love those videos. Did everyone on the planet do them in the 90s? Am I the only one who still does them periodically? Yes, with a VHS tape.

I like to think Clark personally orchestrated the entire Navy Seal Team 6 operation in Pakistan a few weeks ago. Don't tell me he didn't. I'd like a Pentagon tour, please. We can skip purgatory.

Did you know that Spencer did the backward walking tour guide thingey when he was a guide at the PCC in Hawaii...in Japanese? We just may have to take that tour when we come see you. Can we drop bread crumbs so we don't get lost? I didn't notice you walking funny but that is exactly why I avoid exercise. It's really not good for you as you can see.
