The Mastermind of cuteness...

So I've decided that my 3 year old knows exactly how to get herself out of a perdicament-be cute and remorseful. We are having major issues with her potty training. Needless to say, I am sick of changing poopy 3 year old pull ups and have thrown away so many pairs of un-savable poopy underwear that I am ready to give her away.
Today we had the millionth talk about where we put our "potty". After sitting on the potty for a very long time waiting for "something big" to happen I put her back in a pull up and we agreed that if she pooped in her pull up then she would have to go to her room for a while to think about it (I know what all you parents are thinking, just read the rest of the story and don't worry about our tactics...) So she poops in the pull up then quietly and compliantly goes to bed where she falls asleep for an hour or two. When she woke up we had the millionth + 1 talk about potty potty potty.
So, to make a long story short (too late!) tonight getting her ready for bed she wouldn't come over to get her nightgown on so I suspected she was avoiding me. I told her to come over. She reluctently got up and approached with her eyes downcast and an ashamed look on her face. "A, what's wrong?"
"I poopy".
"Come on..." we go down to change her.
This is the best part, and the point of the cute story about getting herself out of trouble.
"A, do you remember what we talked about this afternoon?"
"Yes" a pause and more sad, remorseful eyes...and then she replied, "the Holy Ghost".
Besides the fact that I have never heard her say that in any context before, it was funny enough that we left it at that.

Little Girls, Little Girls...

...everywhere I look, I can see them. Little girls, little girls--every day I eat, sleep and breathe them...
I love living in Houston near many of our cousins-especially so many GIRL cousins! When we get together there are instantly naked girls switching and swapping outfits and finding all sorts of girly things to get into. Playdates with our cousins usually end with every item of clothing they own out on the floor and jewelry and hair things scattered in between--and we love it!
A few days ago we had a little tea party. The girls and I decided that we wanted to have a special activity that we did all summer long, taking turns to invite different friends and family for a special tea date. We had our cousins, (four girl cousins) and one neighbor girl over for tea. They wore their favorite dress.

When they came in they got to choose from our array of scarves, shoes, hats and jewelry. Auntie Abby was in the kitchen making delightful cupcakes and tiny sandwhiches in adorable shapes.

The girls had a blast acting like ladies and using tremendously polite manners (many of them in British accents, why does that happen?)

We had a lot of fun! If you come visit us, maybe we'll throw you your very own tea party!
