My husband and I are in a race against time. We are less than 2 weeks from Hawaii and 20 pounds from ideal. So I committed to something stupid. I say stupid because it has made me a most bitter individual--much like the food I am forcing myself to eat. We weighed in, took pictures and started South Beach Diet. Why this one? Why not. I'll tell you why not. All I can basically eat is meat and vegetables...I used to love vegetables but three days of nothing but vegetables has made me despise them. I want to gag at the very thought of a cucumber slice or chicken chunk. All I want to do is open my pantry and get the bag of chocolate covered Craisins. Then I want to sit in front of the TV and watch a mindless show while devouring an entire Mrs. Smiths Dutch Crumb Apple Pie, all by myself (maybe with caramel drizzled over the top and melty Blue Bell Vanilla Ice Cream on the side).
Amazingly enough I have lost 5 pounds in three days--but I am grumpy and mean and I can't seem to talk about anything else. Food food food. I like food.
(Did I mention that it is only really strict for the first two weeks? I know I am a baby but I want sugar...real bad.)

Deja Vu...
I just had my third girl a few months ago. At first we thought that she had a look all her own--didn't look anything like the first two...and then she began her morphing. Every day she looks a little more like #1 and #2. I'm glad that their personalities are so unique. If they had been triplets, they would have been identical.
These are the characteristics that they exhibited from the moment they were born and have stuck with them through their little lives.
Girl #1

Haley was big and has always been ahead of the curve. She was and ounce shy of 9 pounds. People always mistake her for a year or even two older than she is. She's a tall drink of water that loves to have fun. Everything is a game for her. She loves to make people happy and she loves to cuddle. She is very stubborn and a good leader but likes to hang with the bigger kids and could follow Mom around all day doing what she is doing.
Girl #2

Our little Abby Hope has dimples. We could see them from the day she was born. She has a easy personality and is so so silly. She will put on a show even if no one is watching, just to entertain herself. She can easily make people laugh and fall in love with her...so she gets away with more. She also loves to cuddle but can go from very sweet to dare-devil naughty in 5 seconds flat (and does on a daily basis).
Girl #3

Mia is the best behaved baby so far. We loved the others too but Mia has been sleeping through the night for months--that alone earns her some major brownie points. She is the most content to sit and be patient but will greet you with a huge smile as soon as you even look at her. When she is upset she whines in such a way that it sounds like she is telling you exactly what is wrong...but she has a shrill scream when she really wants your attention--that is how she introduced herself when she was born (its really high and a little raspy). She is sweet and mild tempered and really just loves to be held. Her sisters get the biggest smiles of all from her--she loves them to ooh and aah at her.
We are so blessed. I wouldn't trade any of their personalities for anything else. They are so much fun and balance each other so well. And as long as they keep coming so cute, we'll keep bringing 'em in.
