First layer. A birthday.Haley turned 8. Whoa. I won't say it but you know what I am thinking. I guess if I can turn 31, I can have a daughter turning 8...I really don't mind being 31....I do however feel afraid of having such an old child. With Clark gone for the month of August and things being hectic getting ready for school and whatnot, we opted for a night out with a friend instead of a birthday party (score for me, I secretly hate throwing birthday parties.) Haley was thrilled. She got to invite one of her best friends out for dinner, Build a Bear and dessert. I had a babysitter for the other kiddos so it was all her.
Same day. A homecoming. Always, always, always a happy day.
There is nothing we love more than watching that boat come up the river.Next day. Another birthday.
Mia turns 4. How many times can I say "whoa" in one post? Whoa. She is 4 and I love her.Three days later visitors arrive. Clark's Mom, Dad and two sisters came into town. Happy day! We were so grateful that they made the trip all the way from that big state down south. It was so fun to have them here.
Next day my family arrived. Mo, Dad, Spencer and Sho come into town for the festivities. We like them too and were so grateful to have had them here!!
Next day. The festivities that they all came for. Haley was baptized. My first child. It was such a sweet experience. The grandmas spoke at her baptism and did an amazing job. Haley was calm and sweet and thoughtful. An experience not soon to be forgotten.

Had to get Spencer in there too, he was behind his camera most of the time.We took lots of pictures and since this is my blog I get to choose the only picture where I look like the normal one and the rest of the family look like goons.
Then we just hung out. We ate and went pretty places. We rocked out on Rock Band and ate some more.
Clark had a birthday. Man, he gets older every single year but doesn't look a day over 30.
We had cupcakes to celebrate all the birthdays.
My parents left to take Sho and Spencer home so we spent some quality time with Clark's fam.
We hit up Boston and Cape Cod.

My parents came back and we hung out some more (Haley has been sick with some mystery disease that has caused the lymph nodes in her neck to bulge like an alien life form living under her skin.) So here we are just being together before saying goodbye for a very long time
(my parents leave for Sweden in a little over a month for 3 years. Sad but also very happy.)

Now it's time to let the post-visitor-fun funk set in...and also maybe some laundry.

Whoa is a good choice of words for that post! So many things happening in a short time! So fun! I had heard about your parents! That is awsome and a long time!
Wow would be my word! A lot going on in a short period of time! YOu and your family are so beautiful! You are amazing, just want you to know that! I think you are such a wonderful person and mom.
I'm still here...don't write me off yet! It has been so much fun and we are having a hard time saying our final goodbyes. Such sweet and happy times--we love our family.
What a fun, Fun, FUN time you've had. Busy and having a husband gone is better than having a husband gone with not much going on, don't you think? Bud had come wierd lymph node thing about six months ago...they tested him for TB (fun times), had a chest x-ray (he liked that), and then the doctor decided what I had already thought. Instead of him getting a cold, the sickness setting in the node on the back of his neck.
The Children's Friend this month has a great story about grandparents going on a mission.
Wow! So busy but it looks like it was magical family time! How wonderful! Congratulations Haley!
(By the way, the comment by Emma Jo up there was Mo, not me...oh yeah, they are still here, maybe I'll go hang out with them downstairs.)
Such good times. Haley congratulations! How is your family so drop-your-jaw gorgeous even with goon faces?
Wow, LOTS going on! I did't even remember I called you until you apoplogized for not calling back:) Super super busy over there. Yeah, that baptism thing...I got weapy. And they just grow up right before your eyes when that happens. SO fun to have Meg come (her first time out there?) and everyone. What a fantabulous party time!!! It was a year ago I was there playing with you:)
Everyone looks so very beautiful! And I lol'd at the Hazel ate sand and liked it bit.
So sorry you had to be abandoned like that. Too much!
I was wondering what metaphorical meaning you had when saying "I'm still here, don't write me off just yet." Had it all figured out, and then you explained it.
That sounds like a lot of fun. I'm glad you've been able to enjoy your family. Hope Haley is feeling better.
Love the picture where everyone is jumping. Clark has some spring in him, doesn't he?
Your accomodations may be a little too cozy - I'm still trying to get back in the swing of cooking, laudry, housekeeping, etc. Do you think Haley would mind if I came back with my fam and we moved into her room?
so much fun! i can't believe all the stuff you have had going on. your girls are beautiful as always!
Now THAT'S what I'm talkin' about! THAT is a post! What a whirlwind of a week! Haley is so so very beautiful in her baptism pictures. I miss you guys.
Oh, my heart hurts a little. I hate missing such big, important events. Haley is so big and beautiful and wonderful! And your Mia is 4 years old...and Abby is in first grade. It's just marching by so quickly and I'm missing it all. Dang it. I love you and ADORE your family and love my family and love Clark's family. I love you all!
(Blowing kisses...)
By the way...I will call you back. I was going to pick up HB from preschool when I was talking to you and I knew I was a couple of minutes late but when I pulled up, ALL the other kids and moms were gone and HB was being led back inside by her preschool teachers because her delinquent mom couldn't be bothered to be there on time. Humiliating!
Whoa. That was a lot!!! I'm tired now from reading about all the excitement. Off to bed, I guess. . .
Seriously - if any family can handle such constant partying - it's yours!
Yay on being 8, Haley! Whoa.
