OK, we didn't really get a dog but we could have just made one from all the hair Clark pulled out of every upstairs drain in the sinks and bathtubs...it could have been a great dane.
My gag reflex is in overdrive.
'shudder'
This is one post in which I will spare you a picture. I may not have scruples when it comes to sharing things about bowel movements but by golly, this would cross a line.
The worst part about the whole process that we are trying not to think about? This is a rental, which means all that junk doesn't just belong to us.
Again,
'shudder'.
I'm not even the one doing it and I feel like I need to wash my hands, gargle with Listerine, and maybe wash my retinas with bleach...I may never be able to get these images out of my head.
Thanks goodness for husbands and their iron stomachs.
*And just for the record, though I adore dogs from a distance, we won't be getting one anytime soon. Not until I no longer clean up any part of those bowel movements that I mentioned up above.

I grew up with five sisters who shed like Clydesdales in spring.... I would say "I feel your pain"... but it is your hair I'm talking about.
Love,
Raoole
i really hope jake never dies or leaves us for a long period of time because that is one chore i absolutely could not do. it makes me gag horribly. i completely understand.
Before I read your post and only read your title I threw out a big Bless Your Heart. It still applies, but a little less emphatically.
I thought you had lost your mind for just a moment there...no, not your mind, just a whole head of hair...times 5. I have made Chris pull some real hairball beauties out of our drains...and I gag every time and can't look away because it is a grotesquely fascinating adventure. Think how lovely and clean your drains are now!
Oh! I totally know what you mean! And I'm the only shedder around here. It is so gross! Joe cleans out the clogs for me. EWWWWWW!!!!!
Shudder...shudder...shudder...X100
What is it about hair that makes a stomach turn? You can throw diarrhea, throw up, many other bodily fluids my way, but a big clump of hair? GAG ME WITH A SPOON. :) You mentioned you like that phrase. I was a little shocked when I read the title, you don't strike me as a dog in the house kind of person. That's why I'm friends with you. :) jk.
I'm also happy for you that there is no actual dog, but I feel your pain. In our last apartment there was a clog and the hairball was absolutely revolting. I knew it didn't originate from me since we had recently moved in and it made me want to move out. Cleaning the drains should be required cleaning between tenants. Just as long as I'm not the one who has to do it! Thank goodness you didn't post this closer to Thanksgiving because I have completely lost my appetite.
Just for the record, Em lived in houses with three different dogs during her lifetime--the last two at the same time. Daisy the Schnauzer, Solveig the yellow lab, and Hannah the Corgi. She loved our dogs! She played with them and hugged them put her glasses on them and took funny pictures with them! I can't believe she has any problems with dogs...just having one when life is so hectic. Am I right Em?
I don't even like dogs from a distance. Hair is just nasty when it isn't attached to a head.
My sister had that kind of fun when their drain backed up in an apartment. Hair was the exact length and color of upstair neighbors. I think she is still having nightmares about it.
