Velour and jersey knits.

I decided today that what my wardrobe needs is more leisure suits.
Yes, I'm sure that's what it needs.
(I was reminded of this level of comfort while thinking about this today...would it be wrong to wear something from my maternity bin while not pregnant?)

In other news: we are down to the last three pieces of Halloween candy...make that two, I ate one after I took this picture.  I mean, for reals? We had so much...how fleeting sugar can be, but how lovely and scrumptious. Good times.  Good times. I will have to go back to sneaking the Lindt truffles from my nightstand after the kids are in bed.
Last weekend we decided we needed to get out of the house so after flying through chores (enter only slight sarcasm about "flying through anything" on Saturday mornings...) we headed out out and about to find some fun.  We ended up about 45 minutes away from home at what promised to be a rip-roarin' family fun time.  I won't say that I would have rather sat at home and poked my eyes out with a fork, but it sure wasn't the place I saw advertised.  Nevertheless, we mini golfed out in the cold (I rather like their first experience with something to be totally Crappy (with a capital "C") then every time after that has the potential to be better.) They didn't pick up on how crappy a place it really was (oblivious to the fact that the batting cages were shut down, the playground a law suit waiting to happen, and the go-karts shockingly...missing.) We had fun.
Clark was seriously committed to the game.

Hazel really got into the course (enter a courtesy bang on a symbol here.)

And by the end everyone's hands were so chilled to the bone that we were "racing the holes" where we all went at it at the same time to see who could get their ball in the hole first...knocking other people's balls out of the course may or may not have taken place ('cough' Clark, what's the matter? You afraid you were gonna get beat by a six year old and her sticky, old golf club?..actually, he was.)

So although we won't be making that drive again anytime soon, we had a delicious lunch at a local joint and then found and absolute treasure on our way home.  This is only 15 minutes away.  I love running water.  I need to live near running water.  Beautiful.

Then today we went to the school for Abby's Veterans Day flag ceremony.  There were songs, solos, speaking parts and gushing.  The kids all got to say the name, branch of service and relation to someone they knew in the military.  When she said Clark's name, Navy and "My Dad" I teared up.  Moms get that way sometimes, especially proud, patriotic Moms.

Here is what I love:
Saying "Gag me with a spoon"

It seems I have a memory of playing miniature golf with your husband and his father early in your marriage. Tiger Woods couldn't have been more competitive than those two! The waterfall more than makes up for the Crappy golf place. It's beautiful. I do love to see the gilrs in their mohats! It warms my heart and hopefully, their little heads!

Oh I love Devils Hopyard! I'm so glad you found it. It was one of our very favorite places out there.

You still have two pieces of chocolate? Wow, I hope to someday have that much self restraint.

Fun indoor mini-golf? Monster Golf in Groton. Look for coupons. The kids liked it anyway. The waterfall does look gorgeous. We'll have to plan a trip out there with my kids.

Adorable hats! Did you mom make those? You really know how to do winter right. And if Clark didn't try to beat his little girls in a crappy game of mini-golf, then he wouldn't be, well, Clark.

I love your adventures. That is one of your talents, my dear.

Love the picture of Hazel "into" the course. When my kids were that little, they were bored out of their minds when we played mini golf, but she looks like she had fun.

I aint done seen no crappy mini golf course. I only saw 4 adorably dressed girls with fabulous hats and even more precious smiles plastered across their cute little mugs.

Any chance we can push back the 'wear anything' rule to six months, because none of my stuff if fitting and I haven't gotten me a fabulous leisure suit.

I love miniature golf and the crappier courses are better. They create their own natural hazards (like the green peeling up or worn through). I may have to take my hubby on a date there real soon. Some place around here has glow-in-the-dark miniature golf that I am dying to try.

I want to be your neighbor. Then, my girls can play with your girls...your girls are so precious!! That picture you took by the waterfall is Christmas Card material--although, you probably have those types of pictures turn out all the time! Love to you.

I like the hats (I just read maybe your mom made them?) And really, Butterfinger is at the end of the bowl? Did you already throw out the junk? I was sifting through my kids stuff looking for a butterfinger! Mmmmm....

We totally played at a crappy mini golf place the other day as well! I beat the crap out of the other members of my family though so I will always have warm fuzzy feelings for the place. And the waterfall is stunning...I love adventures. Any kind...even the crappy ones. Bring it on...

We've been to that waterfall! So beautiful. Ah, I miss the fall in New England. It just isn't the same when it sunny and 80 every day in San Diego. Amazingly, of the 4 falls we were there in Groton, Robert never saw the leaves change. He was gone every single time. I will never forget, because I raked every last leaf BY MYSELF! :o)

Beautiful. Looks a little cold. Still laughing at your horn comment for me. Wish I had a witty comeback. In love with patriotic Abby, all proud of her daddy. I would advise against purchasing a velour sweatsuit...am I your only true friend here? NO!

How on earth do you get these gorgeous family pictures? I mean I know all of you are way above average looking but who actually takes the photo?
