I swear I will get to Christmas at some point. It really was too wonderful not to document. However, it must all wait until kids go back to school and I have a little elbow room.
So here is my thought that I leave you with tonight. I am undecided on how I feel about 2011. It is an awkward date for me to write (or type for that matter.) 2010 was so nice and round, large and full. That 11 on the end is just throwing me for a loop. I don't like it. It makes me feel uncomfortable. The 2-0 is so nice and plump, round. 1-1 is too skinny and abrupt.
Now how I feel about the actual year, and not just its numerical representation:
Not that I wasn't happy to send 2010 to that big farm in the sky. It's been some year. Lots of good, lots of not so pleasant. Ooh, which reminds me. I most definitely will have to do my year in review again like last year. I liked doing that....right after I post about Christmas.
Now I think I will go cuddle with my husband and enjoy the rest of our monstrous evening of time (kids in bed by 7:15 was such a good idea!) I have been listening to some movie for the last half hour and I can't for the life of me, figure out what it is he is watching. It sounds like there is a lot of fighting. Maybe I'll visit the kitchen for some leftover blueberry cobbler first.
Goodnight, and happy 1/1/11. OK, I guess that was kind of cool.

I completely agree with the "2011" thing...just isn't visually pleasing for me. But I do have high hopes for the year...haven't defined exactly what I want those "high hopes" to be but I'm sure I'll get around to that...as soon as I get up from my nap.
I think it's cute. I've decided. At first it was awkward to write, but then I kept seeing it up on my chalkboard and it seemed a little small, like its the underdog. I like to cheer for the underdog--they have so much potential that no one seems to notice. eleven. just look at all those e's.
twenty-ten rolled right off the tongue. We'll have to find a way to say this year in a pleasent way. I think I may just drop the "twenty" all together.
eleven.
eleven.
sounds like heaven.
11:11
make a wish.
loves.
I have never been comfortable with uneven numbers. I must agree with you that 11 is awkward and I have also been feeling a little out of sorts with it. I guess I will just have to get used to it. What else can you do?
Ha ha. That was funny.
