Chapter 1...I am born.

I love birthdays, I mean, who wouldn't? First thing this morning (actually second thing...first thing was telling Mia, who was laying in bed next to me at 6:15am, to stop unwrapping the piece of candy that she was about to eat...) I laid in my bed and called for my children to come sing me Happy Birthday...then I closed my eyes and snuggled for a few minutes before cracking the whip to get everyone ready for church. I told them that my one birthday wish was that they would be nice to each other, all day. It almost happened. Close enough.
My family and friends have showered me with packages this week...boxes, treats, edible deliveries and fun trinkets. One package that came this week all the way from Texas had a cute gift from my own daughters...lovingly picked up, wrapped and sent by their helpful aunt. Haley called her last week, concerned about the fact that she had no money and couldn't drive. So my sister in law helped them out. I even got a phone call last night at 12:03 am from my fun friend who wanted to be the first to wish me well. And I am sitting here now with my belly absolutely full and aching from delicious food and wonderful company. She even let me make requests for what I wanted to eat. The sparkling grape juice was a bonus.
Thank you to all of you gift shower-ers and well wishers on blogs, facebook, e mail, mail and by person!!

I feel loved.
I love birthdays.

And 31? I'm totally up for it.

Happy Birthday!!! I'm glad you had a happy week!

Okay, that last picture... I died laughing at whoever is falling off the bed at the exactly right moment.

Happy Happy Birthday child dear...

Happy 31. I'm glad 30 worked out well enough to take it to the next level. Way to hang in there.

As for the gang sign you're flipping in that picture... I'm not sure the '31s' are recruiting this year... bad economy and all. Try their rival, the '32s' next year.

Dang, I can't believe I missed your birthday again! What does this make, like 31 years?
I'm totally going to blame the pregnancy this year and promise to do better next year.
The good thing is that I know you will forgive me...you are just so generous like that.

Happy Birthday!

Ah to be 31 again. Does this mean your joints don't ache and you can still do cartwheels? Must be fun. You just get better and better. I'd go for 32 and maybe even 33 in a couple of years. So glad you feels loved cuz you definately are!

Kay.. I already rambled on about how delightful you are (see "Mo's" blog.. but must continue with the flattery-- (cause what's a b-day without lots of flattery??) and say even though I know you're just being silly.. that last picture of you is actually really, really darling. Glamorous even. Pretty hair color. Cute sweater.

You are so pretty! Seriously...so, so, so pretty! And the sweater...darling. Where do I get me one? Matches the cute watch, love the flowers on the wall...love the child falling off the bed! Happy, happy birthday sweet sister. I put your card in the mail just moments ago (for real!). The minute I saw this card, I knew it belonged to you. I bought it and sent it as quick as I could. I love you. I'm so glad you were born!

Happy Birthday!! I'm so sorry I missed it. It must be the time change. I was thinking of you Saturday, "hmmm, when is her birthday? It has to be coming up here soon." And then today I was too late. But I've been thinking of you and what an amazing person you are, and must ditto how well you've held up these last 31 years -you look amazing. Glad you had some good birthday love.

You truly have never looked better! Yes, I'd say the 30s are just getting better and better for you. Maybe I'll get lucky next year and become pretty like you! Like that sconce on the wall, btw...har har. And loving the legs in the background. You are amazing. Happy birthday.
