Connecticut is cold in the winter. It's downright frigid, in fact. I love the amazingly beautiful place that we live but in March, I get the hankerin' to be somewhere else. I didn't move to Texas until high school but it turned out to be a pretty great fit. I truly love that place. If you wonder why Texans have such Texas pride/attitude, move there. You can't just visit. You have to live there. Soak it in. Stew in it. Eat a chopped baker. Get real Mexican food. See the Bluebonnets. Eat Blue Bell ice cream. Go to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo as many times as possible. I was slightly afraid of Texans when we first moved there but heck, I scored myself a Texan for a husband so they turned out to be pretty cool.This is why I miss Texas in March. That and all the other stuff.
I might as well surrender and buy this for myself.
Someday I will be sad that I do not live in New England. I really, really love it (most of it.) But March? I could do without.

My husband still hasn't caught the spirit, nor will he ever speak the words on that bumper sticker, but he does love it here. He just can't turn his back on that other BIG state.
March is always such a tease. You think it will be spring, but no. Hope it warms up soon! I hope the summers are cooler so you can enjoy all of it and not spend July and August inside like we'll have to here and did in VA.
Yes...move back, quickly! To Dallas, we have er...eh...a new naval base right down the road from us.

I always thought Feb was the dreariest of the New England winter months--but I can imagine how the false hope of spring could be really aggrivating. I'm so sorry for the slushiness of it all. But you will have the last laugh when we are home-bound in the summer and you are romping through green pastures and cows and cones and daytrips, etc...
Not a day goes by that my beautiful wife does not make a comment about moving to somewhere warm year round. And Texas is the only non-west coast place in the US that she would consider. I love that in only six months she became that enamoured with it... 'course, that's really because you and Babs were there... If you go back, heck, we might just join y'all.
I hate New England "spring". Whenever I call any family, they are all enjoying the sun outside; meanwhile, I am still wearing a coat and drinking hot chocolate. I bought myself a jacket yesterday to trick myself into thinking the weather will be nice soon. I hope it works.
If you're not going to live near us (which I know you won't) I guess Texas is a good second choice. At least I can get a good visit to Harwin in every so often and if we plan our trips there for winter, we can get out of the snow. Will you mind if we come and spend the whole winter with you?
Texas does sound nice..Never been there. If you move there for good, can I come visit?
I've always wondered what it was people loved about it.. Kristi liked dallas too. Just was wondering what one DOES there all day.. but the rodeos do entice me. We get lots of those here too.
Was there any outdoor recreation per say?? I really am curious cause yo never kow where you'll move next in retail..
