Let me start by telling you all a very sad story with an ironically happy ending. Our home in Texas has been on the market for one year (this month). That is a long time and unfortunately a lot of money. We have had two deals fall through due to: one totally random circumstance (and rather hard to believe, if you ask me-a woman and her fiance, the fiance was shot and killed two days before closing and the woman found out he was a drug dealer...so typical.) and one due to a buyer's own house selling falling through (got it? no one wants to buy houses...don't tell me if yours sold fast, it will only make me feel bad.) This has been especially hard because I loved our home and it was just perfect for us. ANYWAY! back to the ironically funny ending. One of the reasons for living with my parents (besides the necessity of help to maintain my sanity during this no husband/no father/big belly time period) was to save money, and avoid paying two mortgages/rent (which we did all last summer...bummer.) We didn't save a ton of money because our house continued to sit and wait out the long winter when no one was buying houses (again, don't tell me how fast yours sold...I like to believe that our house wasn't some kind of reject.) THE DAY AFTER MY HUSBAND, now nicknamed "the good luck charm", ARRIVED HOME, (the caps were for dramatic emphasis...had I been speaking directly to you, I would have raised my voice and used some kind of over dramatized arm motions) we received another offer on the house....the first in 6 months. All is set to close later this month, on the condition that their own house closes the week before. So not to jinx it or anything...little 'hooray' for now.
That was the Good.
The Sad: one more trip to the ER.
Kids listen up! Treadmills are not toys (for the millionth time). Lesson learned? Good!
We had two guilt stricken sisters trying, tearfully, to take the blame for their little sister's poor fortune. It's good to know that when it comes down to the wire, my children won't run and hide and lie that they didn't do it. They took full blame. It was pathetic "No, I did it, it was my fault, I told her to do it!" They were so worried about her.
She is fine. We thought she had broken her wrist but it turned out to be some yucky friction burns that will heal and hopefully leave no permanent scarring.
We sat in a horribly dirty children's hospital emergency room and sanitized every 30 minutes. We then sat back in the treatment room separated by curtains and listened to the little girl next
Good news: University Hospital will give your kids a free slushy with each visit...at least I think it was free...I'll let you know when the bill arrives.
We had doctors and nurses not even working on her coming in to see her..word was spreading that there was an adorable little girl in polka dot shoes being treated for something that
So that's it for now. We have been having fun being with Clark. The girls each planned a special one on one Daddy Daughter date with him this week. He plays, he teases, he tickles, he folds laundry, he lets me have naps, he rubs backs and feet, he feeds children, he gives love and attention...we are in heaven. I am fully expecting all hell to break lose when he leaves us next week but for now we'll bask in his presence.

i'm so happy he's back and we'll just cross my fingers that the house will sell and all will go through. sorry about the ER trip. we're still yet to have a major treadmill injury. just a matter of time.
Yay!! Your house sold! I'm just going to assume that third time's a charm. That's good luck, right? Oh wait, CLARK, is the charm!! Congrats on having times for naps and for having someone else around who can help with laundry! Yay! Don't worry about next week, just enjoy this one!
stop stop tears are coming! and mia looks sooo pathetic! but sooo cute!! and is she okay? she has gotton sooo old since i have seen her!! and you are looking very cute too ma'm! i am glad that your family is happy!! :)
oh my gosh emily!! i looked at my blog to see if there was any new comments and there weren't! so i went to abbys blog and then i came back and there was a comment from you! so we must be on the computer looking at blogs at the exact same time!!!!! :) how cool is that!! :)
Oh my,oh my! Mia does look pathetic. I agree treadmills are very dangerous places and we shouldn't use them. I love the picture of Clark and the girls. Love you.
what? where is he going next week? YOU NEVER COMMENT IN YOUR COMMENT SECTION WHEN SOMEONE ASKS YOU A QUESTIONS...SO START NOW. Wow, my kids play on my tread mill all the time, I guess I should worry. Right now it has stuff all over it, so i won't worry...and I NEVER heard about the first house sale falling through b/c of a drug dealing murder...I can't believe that! So happy for now for you. It is a beautiful home.
3 more things:
1. i almost bought that blue dress at target, alyssa favored it, but i got another
2. i can't believe the polka dot shoes are not included in the pict...barely got cut off
3. so glad clark was home so join you in the ER
Your house is beautiful. I miss the brick homes in Texas. They are so beautiful!! Good luck with the selling. I also saw the dress at Target and almost got it for Kaylee. I am glad little Mia is doing better. Where is Clark going now?
Yay he's home!!!! I'm so happy for you all. Although I thought he was staying for a while, apparently he's leaving again soon. :(
Maybe the millioninth time telling them will finally do the trick until the next baby comes. That's cute that they wanted to take all the blame. Don't ever tell them about the mystery of the chocolate bunny, they may start getting other ideas. :)
I will keep my fingers crossed that all goes well with the sell of your house...what a huge relief that will be!
What sad little marks on that cute face!
Call me next week when Clark goes...we would love to hang out.
Em...I didn't know your house was sold! I'm so ashamed and embarassed...I'd run downstairs right now and shake you awake to hear all about it but you know...Clark is home...been away along time...I'll just wait until morning!
I'm so happy he is home!
Can I just say that we can not wait to see you!! I love daddy-daughter dates!
By the way Mia's injury is just another great example of why I don't exercise. It is dangerous, just ask her and she will agree!
To answer any questions:
Her red polka dot shoes are from Puddle Jumper--so adorable and her absolute fave.
Clark is here until next week and then he has to head back to CT for a couple of weeks until baby is born (he WILL be here for that)
Treadmills are mostly dangerous when very little children try to jump on them at high speeds.
I swear the story about the drug dealer is what they told us (though I still think they just wanted out and came up with a totally lame excuse...dead fiances, my foot.)
As I read this out loud to Taylor he folded up the new (old) treadmill in our bedroom so the kids can't get to it. Thanks for the warning! I'll show my kids the pictures of your poor daughter in the morning just in case they don't believe me about the dangers of the treadmill. Ironically the new (old) treadmill we just got from Nate and Nicole is the one that G & G Green had when they lived in the house you are now living in!
So glad C. is treating you well. Sounds heavenly. And I'm especially glad for your house selling! I'll pray no one gets shot and has to back out of the closing... :)
Oh my goodness!!!! That looks awful. I hope she is all right. I have scared the children about never playing on our treadmill with a story from a young woman in our stake who was playing on hers with friends and she fell with her feet going into the front part where the motor is and broke all ten of her toes! Needless to say they have stopped using it as a toy.
I hope your house goes through. Good Luck! Give a big kiss to Mia for me and tell her it is from Mo-Mo.
sorry about the ER trip. your girls are so adorable. glad fun is being had by all when dad is home. sorry he has to go back, but yay that he'll be back for when your baby arrives!!!
Only my boys have had to go to the ER to be sewn back together.
You're growing up some tough but super adorable girls! And you're super adorable pregnant, too.
Any word on the house???
How's the healing coming?
Oh I hope your house sells. And I hope MI MI gets better. And we are so glad Clark is home for a spell. You have such a wonderful family
