Chilhood Entourage

I am always fascinated and entertained by the entourages of children--all those toys that "are scared to be left behind"...I love the loads of friends that go in the car, to the store or get tucked into bed each night with the kids. I mean, I don't love taking all of those things everywhere but I love the novelty of being attached to stuffed animals (even though I have an uncomfortable dislike for stuffed animals...they get dirty.)
Anyway, what I want to know is, Who is in your child's entourage? The only thing funnier than a child's clan of things is the names that they have been given. Here are ours, please share yours.

Judy
Mow Mow
yellow blankie
big blue blankie
little blue blankie
Kaylee
Magica
Puppy
Katy
Chi Chi
Shamu (or "Mamu")
Bunny
Pup
Fuzzy
...just to name a few

And here are some pics from Columbus Day weekend. We met the Oscarsons in NYC for an afternoon in Central Park, visiting the carousel, the zoo and a parade. Spencer and Sho were having fun playing with their new, fancy camera. It was a fun day!

(this pic is simply evidence of "the bump" that has taken up residence in my belly...and I imagine that Haley's face is one that will follow her into adolescence in response to most of what her parents do.)

We've been published!! im so proud.the only thing we have a funny name for is our plumeria tree (which has over twenty leaves, mo, and has its first flower bunch trying to sprout). I call it Plooey. I have names for all of your children though, does this count? Bug, Booger, and Boo-Boo.

Sadly, my kids have no enterage, and even less names for stuffed animals. Is it a boy thing? They call things by what they are, and they definitely don't want to carry it around. Seth begged me to name his stick horse. At least 6 times a day he asks me what it is- because he can't remember. Sad.
Happy pictures- and that's a good lookin' bump!

My boys call their blankets "Tickies" I have no idea why. They call there baby brother Ericybop, don't know where that came from either.

Some of the stuffed animals that hang around our house:

Gus
Foreman Dave
Quincy the horse
Giant Doggy Bear
Firefighter bear
Buzz the bee
and the famous Jingle Bear from Grandma Green.

Love the cute pictues also. Where do you find cute shirts like that. I am trying to find a shirt to wear other than t-shirts. maybe I am just too cheap to buy cute shirts that end up with vomit, snot, and mac&cheese grease on them.

your hump, your hump, your lovely baby hump...
Zurburt
puppy
elmo
Those three sleep in the crib religiously with Cubby.
Motorbike
Aitplane
and about three cars
travel around in my purse--religiously.
My purse is heavy.
I got so excited to empty it out the other night for our date night, and it looked like a mini used car lot.

My favorites are Seeds the Lamb, Cookie, the Panda, and about two or three various other animals all named Aurora. We also have Princess blanket, and blue blanket.

I love that look on Haley's face! And your baby bump is cute! (I have to admit mine is more than a bump these days.)

I will just leave Oli's Entourage... some of it you have surely seen when you lived two doors down.

Minkie
skyee (prounounced sky-ee)
Lil' pork chop (a blanket)
angel
green-out
black-out
teddy
oliver (yes he named one after himself)
flame ball (I discouraged him from naming him flame balls... no joke)

Oh the trips we have made to stores in the middle of the night searching for a missing member.

Cutest bump ever! I need to send you your "Baby" jeans. Hold on while I put that on my "to do" list.

......

Anything else I need to send while I'm at it? Should I just send it to Mo's house?

Our entourage: past and present

Blue Blankie (she's 9 now, and claims she doesn't still sleep with it, but I know for a fact that she keeps it under her pillow!)
Lily the dog
Buzz (Lightyear)
Lightning (McQueen) What can I say... Oscar is loyal to his Pixar brand! Oscar usually carries around an assortment of small toys - his favorites of the moment - in a small backpack or lunch box.

My child for some weird reason has never gotten attached to any stuffed animal.

I love that picture of you. You look so pretty with your "bump" and brown hair and that cute brown shirt.

fuzzle blanket

grey
stripy
imaginary friends: Kerplunk, Ukulele and Xylophone. You might remember them Emily, they lived with us in SC. They settled in VA, but I think they may have moved to TX while we were in RI. Everyone else we know it seems moves to TX.

I don't think I named anything beyond actual names: teddy bear was teddy bear, blankie was blankie. Todd sleeps with foam wedges but we just call them wedges. Are we uncreative?

I can't wait for you to get here! I told Todd tonight that once you got here I would be spending some nights up in Bountiful. He wasn't pleased.

Suzie Petunia said...

heh-heh... Todd sleeps with wedgies!

I was a pretty boring kid...The only one I can remember is my doll named Tina (what?) Now Bud has Teddy (guess what that is). Almost everything else is nameless such as cars, motorbikes, and airplanes!

Ok...I feel like I haven't caught up on your life for a long time! Your belly's cute, you must be taking new fun pictures with either a new camera or you're just getting good at photoshop, I just plain miss you!

It's late and I really need to get to bed, but I'm waking up in the morning to read the fun books you did!

As far as stuffed animal names we have a sally I know of for sure and sydney's fish is still named Emily, but just yesterday Spencer relized that green (his blue fish) isn't green so he's now changed from green to Blue.

The family entourage consists of blue blankie, purple blankie, Lauren, Sophie, Katie, Maceny, Lucille, Carmen, Buttercup, Marvelous, Peanut, and thats just the begining. If anyone reading this comment is named any of the above and you want to know what you are let me know.

Boo-Boo baby

Little Ed is a personal favorite. He eats wood pizza at the table with us every morning.
