Dangit, the girl can move.

We have entered that magical time in a baby's life when they become "more mobile". Remember how exciting it is when they learn to roll over? At five months she learned the army crawl and spent her time dragging herself around on her stomach by one arm...then I put her in just a diaper on the wood floor and she skidded more than moved so she got up on all fours and it was adorable for about 5 minutes until she really figured things out. Suddenly she's Jack Jack from the Incredibles, moving at the speed of light and virtually teleporting herself from one mess to another.I have found her in here about a million times in the last two days. I'd like to think that all I had to do was sweetly ask my kids and husband to keep the bathroom doors closed but that's about as likely as them getting the used toilet paper into the toilet and flushing...For the last three weeks she has been crawling in slow motion and suddenly this week she flipped on the turbo boosters. I'll think she is right behind me and then I hear flattened cereal boxes being flung out of the recycling bin by tiny hands.
There really is nothing cuter than catching her in the act of making a mess, er, discovery...she is still so darn cute she gets off with just a warning. But a mobile baby is a naughty baby...heaven help us all.

Oh my goodness. Who is that great big crawling baby and where did she come from? That cannot possibly be the same little skinny Hazel Nut that was born just yesterday!!! It's a good thing I will be seeing her soon before she leaves for college!

I will always be grateful my kids sat at 4 months(so I could put them down) but did not crawl till 10 months. 5 months is too close to when they were born!

to quote cubby, "I laaaaave her!"

Oh yes. Those mobile moments.

And be aware of silence. That's always when things got scary is when they got quiet.

Of course, she knows those beautiful eyes will get her out of trouble.

She is so cute! I am trying to decide just who she looks like-I am not sure. Don't let her change any more before Christmas. Love you.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT IS YOUR BABY!! Let me say that again...I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT IS YOUR BABY! Do I laugh at how cute she is or cry at how big and mobile she is and I'm not there to enjoy it.

Dang it.

JJ, I had to laugh at your comment because in the last picture she looks rather cross eyed. he he.

Glad to know mine aren't the only toilets not being flushed! I too can't believe how big she is already!

The moving stage is definately cuter in theory that in real life. Jameson doesn't pull down the tp, he likes to tear it into tiny pieces. A mess either way. But he'll sure like having a partner in crime!

Can she come to visit to teach Ryan to crawl. SHe's so close, maybe some baby peer pressure would do the trick!

Now that she's mobile she can run away when my baby tries to maul her! Or maybe they would attack separate bathrooms and really cause us problems....

awwww, so cute. I remember when I could no longer scrapbook on the floor when tyler was a baby. Flushing is a problem around here, too.

The real question is, do you reroll the TP or tear it off and throw it away? And if you figure out how to get them to flush, send the info my way.

Emma Jo said...

Oh, unless the TP is wet, I reroll baby. And the flushing is primary done by me at random times of the day when I happen to wander into a bathroom...usually when I am on the phone and the person on the other end assumes that I have taken liberties during our conversation.

Wow--she is getting big fast! I forgot how quickly the new stages sneak up on you when you're not expecting it.

And another thing, shouldn't your baby be doing the "navy crawl" instead of the army crawl? Hmmm?

I love when they first are learning to crawl because they are so darn cute. But, after a little while - I start going crazy. They move so fast. She is adorable!!
