Anyway, Clark missed it because he has school two nights a week. Haley left him these notes on the counter to tell him all about it. I'm still kind of amazed that my child can read and write (creatively...she's only in Kindergarten, give her a break.)
[instead we rided the donkey]
By the time the donkey ride was over they had cut-off the end of the line for the camel. So we stood and watched our dreams walk around small circles with other children on its back. Thanks for nothin Mr. Camel...the kids may never get another chance to know what it felt like to be a wise man riding a camel through the desert.

I'm so proud I want to cry...Haley can write! Wow! Sounds like a very fun activity. I miss doing these things with you!
she never was the best at past tense but her spelling is already better than mine!! this looks like such fun. sheaux walks around the apt these days saying "we get to see the girls so soon! i wanna go now!!" you may ned to keep a count of them over the break to make sure sheaux doesnt try to run off with on of them.
What a fun night! Christmasy things are so much fun with kids. I love the description of all the random Christmas/craft booths...only at a ward function!
What a proud looking camel! Did he spit?
It was actually a local Methodist church--and it was way better than any Mormon thing I've been to. I actually felt like I was in Bethlehem. The old couple at the front door greeted and asked if you were from Bethlehem or just visiting (non-members) and then recorded it old school style on a clay tablet! Of course, after that the old man clicked the number counter clicker thingy in his hand, and I laughed at that. Also, the camel ride was called "Caleb's Camel," so I was extra sad we couldn't get a picture! Before we went I told the girls about spitting camels and then they were obsessed with it were very wary about being spat upon, so I had to retract my statement about Camels spitting. Talk about a long comment!
That is really really really neat.
I love it.
that sounds like so much fun. i wish we had known about all of the excitement. it's not everyday you get the chance to ride a camel! not saying that i would have hopped on for a ride, but the girls would have liked it!
Is now an appropriate time for a camel toe joke?
Looks like you guys had fun, and Haley, the intrepid reporter, recorded all the details!
how on earth do you round up a camel in Texas. I would have hated to have had that committe assignment. Sounds like a whole lot of fun though and I am impressed by Haley's writing. Amazing. I think that is what my Christmas is missing right now....kids around. Staring at the Christmas tree by myself while Mark is away doing Tithing settlement is really no fun....thank you for your sympathy.
Elastic...I left regretting that I had not taken a picture of "the worst camel toe I have ever seen"...it may not have been appropriate for my blogging audience (ie my Dad) though don't think I laughed all the way home about it...that's just me. How did my parents ever end up with kids like us?
After the event, Haley was asking me about donkeys in her horse book. I appreciate correct terminology as much as the next guy, but Haley was trying to sound out the printed name for the donkey...A-S-S. I told her it was pronounced AZZ, because...I just did. She'll learn swear words soon enough at school, unfortunately.
This coming from a family who likes to say things just for shock value, oh wait that only applies to Emily! And Emily, if you read this I did post another blog. Sorry for the drought, but like you in times past I was feeling a little grouchy!
