Earlier in the day, Abby (age 2) was escorted to the changing room for a doozy of a poopy one. While waiting for the diaper changing props to be staged she was swinging on the bar of the treadmill when she dropped and landed squarely on her rump. Do you know what happens when that much weight drops on a full, poopy diaper? It's kind of like stepping on a water balloon...full of poop! It shot out the sides of the diaper, onto the treadmill, down her leg and somehow on her little pink cast. (I'm talking substatial amounts everywhere!) (The pink cast on her arm is a whole other blog.) Clark got put on room cleanup and I took Abby to the bathtub. I scoured her body the best I could. Then I sat down with an old toothbrush and a bottle of Clorox bleach cleaner and tried to scrub the poop from the tiny crevaces in her cast...but to no avail. I ended up wrapping the cast with medical tape to cover the fecal matter until tomorrow when I can take her back to the orthopedic surgeon. "Um, can we have a new cast?...this one got poop on it."
I love two year olds.

That is SO gross. Never have a dog. It increases the poop factor exponentially. Seriously. My bare feet NEVER touch my own carpet. The second we don't have dogs, I get all new carpet throughout the entire house.
Yea, it was gross and it was my treadmill that got the poop! Now a walk on the treadmill will be more akin to a walk in the park--watch where you're walking....oops....ewww, you stepped right in it! Actually, Clark did an admirable job of cleanup. I can't even tell where it was. The good news is that the doctor's office seemed very understanding and there is a sparkling clean new pink cast on the little monkey today! I love grandparenting. All I did was hand over the Chlorox and wipes and tell them to have fun!
Your kids get poop everywhere??? What KIND of a mother are you, anyway???! Oh yah...one just like me. Don't you love it when they poop while taking a bath? That's so fun...ah...good times.
I suppose the only thing more uncomfortable than sitting in your own poop is falling on it.
This story made me LAUGH, LAUGH, LAUGH!
Perhaps this isn't the place to post about Melody and my husband's mistaken belief that she had gotten into the Christmas chocolate and smeared it all over the house and her face. So glad I wasn't home for that one. He took photographic evidence though, especially her face, to gross out future boyfriends and prevent them from kissing her.
As of August, my house is officially diaper free, for the first time in ten years!
