and then there were none, but one, and a half.

Aaaahhh.
Do you hear that?
Silence.
The break was good.  I love Christmas vacation.
But the quiet is nice again too...time to get things back together.
Maybe in a minute.  I am still pouting that I have been sick since the day after Christmas.
I would be happy to fill you in on Christmas festivities when I get all the pictures off of my brother's camera.
See?  I have an excuse.
The girls' behavior was bizarrely good yesterday.  That freaks me out a little.  But instead of freaking out, Clark and I have just convinced ourselves that we fixed all the problems single handedly and won't ever have issues with lazy, contentious children ever again (a parent has the right to dream from time to time.)
I need to clean out and organize the office...maybe I will just rearrange it instead.  Let's see how busy Clark is at work today.  If he is not especially busy, I will receive a phone call within the hour because he has read the blog and will gently try and persuade me to simple clean up the office instead of rearranging it.
I want something to eat but I don't know what.  Any ideas?

My girls were super excited for school to start again. They were dressed with coats and shoes on before 7:00am. (They must really love hanging out with mom.)

I'm glad things are quieter around your place, and after your post, I desperately want to reorganize a room.

Three out of four girls went tripping off to school today in bright hats and grumpy face and I cried tears of joy. I negotiated with the babe that if she did not watch any TV in the morning, thus letting me listen to softly playing yoga music while I went on-line, she could have chocolate, play-doe and paint all at the same time.
I am assuming your children found presents under the tree Christmas morning...hope the sickness passes soon and you get that rebound effect of energy afterwards.
Cheers,
Leah

Loaded nachos. I made a heaping baking sheet of it for dinner. Yum.

These are the days when we need to live near each other. I would come sit in your office and watch you reorganize. I'd give you good advice and everything.

Thank heavens for public education.

Pneumonia has given me the opportunity to sit in a silent house this week and contemplate why in the world I ever went back to work.

Thank heavens for public education indeed!
