Up close and personal.
I got the most awesome thing in the mail a couple of weeks ago. A military friend sent me a link for a company offering free banners to active duty military...being active duty military has all sorts of perks and I have learned that it never hurts to ask "Do you offer a military discount?" I mean, this job should come with a few perks here and there, right? And a free vinyl banner totally makes up for the 4 years of our marriage that he has been absent, so naturally I jumped at the chance. Instead of paying $65.00 for an enormous sign, which I would most likely never do, I paid $6.50 for shipping. Awesome.
Oh, and I put a 2 foot picture of his face on it, because he will soooo love that. He is lucky that I just hung it inside this time. He has only been gone for 3 weeks. When he gets back from the 6 month one, this baby will be hanging outside where everyone will see how much we love him, and his huge face.

What a fun idea - and almost free! I think after 6 months you need to find a billboard company that will donate their services.
Anyone who makes the sacrifice of being away from their husband/wife that long deserves all the perks they can get! That is great!
If you're going to start talking to it, I suggest you invest in a full size cardboard cutout. Much more life like. An easy mistake to make if you should start talking to it...

I love it...How fun for you. Here in the Springs, everything has a military discount. Even my husband offers a military discount for braces.
totally LOLing right now . awesome. and you should totally talk to it--heck yell at it when you need a release. just don't ever tell me you need to get off the phone so you can be with your hubby...now THAT would be creepy.
come to think of it, you should have a life-sized cut out that hangs around the house when he's gone...or a "buddy" like you made abby!
