Well excuuusse, me.

My blog title for this segment was supposed to be "weMAC, do you?" but instead I feel a need to excuse myself for more lame posts. Our most exciting news for the week is the arrival of a very special new family member.  We decided to finally retire our old computer and turn it out to pasture.  It was a ripe 8 years old...that's like 5,000 million giga, megaplex years old in computer years.  We gave it a lot of thought and decided to switch teams, as it were.  We are now Apple people.  Let me tell you, that is one company that I should have invested in years ago.  They are wicked smart as far as their products and marketing goes.  They have thought of just about everything and though there are many times a day that I yearn for the familiarity of my good-'ole jalopy, I am really excited for our new setup.  We have no more computer wires everywhere, we have sound again (we have been without sound for almost 5 months), the screen is so big I feel like I should be sitting several feet back and if the keyboard were any smaller it would be a blackberry.  But it is shiny and new and fast!! and can do all sorts of new pony tricks and did I mention no wires?  I really do love it, a lot.
However, it also means that I have no bookmarks list in my internet.  So, in order for me to continue reading all of your blogs that I love so much, I need you to comment!!! A simple "yo" would suffice but if you feel so inclined, feel free to include exclamations of adoration or praise, whatever.  I need a link to you because let's face it, with all the other stuff I got going on, it might be another 5,000 million giga megaplex years until I get around to getting the bookmarks off of my old computer.  Thanks, you're a lamb.
The other project that I made mention of is the great switching of the rooms project.  Haley someday will look back and think "gee, my mother must have loved me a lot to give me her office."  And I do, but this project may just be the end of my sanity...scratch that, I lost that 5,000 million giga megaplex years ago.  Her room is nearly done, minus some final decor touches and my room is now the temporary staging area for a couple hundred square feet worth of discarded office...now where did I put those paper clips?  It doesn't help that my bed is too low to put bins under it.   'sigh'
This week will end with everything in it's place (including the laundry) right?
What, no pictures? Here ya go.  A little something for coming back.

Father's Day 2009
(Thanks Darcy for the idea and Kristen for the layout!)

Congratulations on making the switch!!! If I could recommend one thing, get the time capsule. It is a bit pricey, but boy that thing is fantastic and has come in VERY handy! It backs up your computer wirelessly with time machine. So, if you ever crash, or have something else weird happen to it, just restore from your last backup and everything will be as it was. Including bookmarks. :) Email me if you have any "new mac owner" questions. We have had ours for a little over a month and are loving it!

Confession: I've actually been reading your blog since I photographed your baby at your mom's house (blush). I just can't help myself -- you're a fun writer! :) I hope you don't mind. :)

You guys went to a Mac?! Where's your allegiance? Who am I to talk. All my college courses required using a Mac and there are definite pluses to the system (no cord mayhem being the biggest one). Good luck!

Love the photo of the girls! Such beautiful little people!

I love the Father's day picture. So cute! I'm jealous you got a Mac. We have Vista on our PC and there are times I want to throw our computer out the window.

Yo. jkr2006.blogspot.com.

Josh's cousin and his wife just moved to Brideport for his residency. I told them I didn't think you were too far away since you're close to the coast too. Am I totally wrong? Their blog is http://kevandchels.blogspot.com.

You are brave and very loving to give up your office. A mother's space is very important.

I LOVE new computers although it is a slight hassle to get everything back to the way you like it.
I love your Father's Day card thing. I was contemplating something like that for my mom's b-day but never got it done. I can't do it for Father's Day because I rely on my wonderful man to do all my digital editing. Someday I will conquer that dimension, but I am not holding my breath right now.

YO. Seriously. Sign me back on up.
You provide me with so much good reading.. the least I can do is give you ONE more blog to hit before returning to the world of dishes and laundry. (You do realize each of our new posts are a little gift to one another as woman.. another reason to rationalize NOT getting up and getting in the shower.. like yours was for me, just now! Thanks!)

Yo! You know, you should really use google/gmail to keep track of everything for you. That way, when you switch computers, it is already wherever you go. Good luck with the bedroom switch.

I have been a Mac lover for years! Educators and graphic designers wouldn't have it any other way! I'm so happy you are operating on new machinery...we desperately need an update on our technology as well. I want to see pictures of Haley's new digs! Post! And I LOVE the photos of your girls. That is one very lucky dad!

We also love the wireless wonder! I call him my boyfriend, Mac, not to be confused with my husband, Matt. But he has kept me company on many nights. :)

So Spencer finally got to you. I suspect he is getting kickbacks from Apple--he is their best salesman. Someday I may cave...maybe. I want to see pics of the new room. You are the ultimate unselfish mom. I have given up my special room, too. I know how it feels, but I'm not unselfish. Love the father's day pics--dalring!!

Hurray for APPLE!!! We switched several years ago and haven't had a single annoying virus or glitch yet. LOVE IT,...maybe even more than you. :) Oh, and love the bright happy outfits in the father's day picture. Very very cute girls.

Yo-yo That DAD picture is great!! Way to go. Congrats on the new computer. Your old one might have been museum worthy.

Spencer is keep converting people to mac. What a great missionary he is! I think Apple should offer him a job....I love the girls' fathers day pic!

I hate to tell you this but after my i-POD crapped out on me after 2 years I started asking around and apparently all apple products are like this (computers). They have great marketing because they need people to keep buying thier crap every 2 years.

So there is my rant, you asked for some exclamations, here's one, POOP ON APPLE! (I still get to look at your blog, right?)

We're mac folks too.

Cute dad's day photo!

Don't let Kara rain on your parade. Our macs last at least 5 years before we decide it is time to upgrade for speed and other goodies. Have fun playing with the new toy!

Your blog is a fun read, I found it through Kelly's.
