A Blogging Fog...

We've all experienced the fuzzy haze that comes with the Blogging Fog...nothing to write about, no humor to exploit. Things are going quite well in our household--I have a handle on the cleaning, the kids and even a little decorating...maybe thats why I haven't had time to Blog...dangit. I want it all.
A couple of weeks ago my husband was out of town for some top secret, highly important training for work. He had to attend a Sail Instructor Training course in Charleston, South Carolina. Poor guy. He spent an entire week without the nagging of a wife, duty of the dishes, and diapers out the wazoo. AND if that weren't torture enough he had to spend all of his time out on a lake with a bunch of guys in little sailboats. (are you feeling the sarcasm?) It's OK, I lived vicariously through him. He called me every time he ate at one of our favorite Charleston restaraunts and I pretended that I was there with him--I even made him order my favorite dishes.
While he was gone my sister gave me the encouragement needed to finally make the big change. I haven't really liked the color of our downstairs since we moved in but I had learned to live with it. She motivated me (and somehow convinced my brother and his wife) to come over for an all night painting party. Surprisingly enough we saved it until the night before Lt. came home even though he had been gone for an entire week. We got started at 10:30 pm and finished at about 5:30 am. There was a little bit of pizza, some ice cream and a lot of caffine. It was really fun and tidious at the same time. We spent quality sibling time--and as you can imagine our conversation spanned farting to current events and political debates...I love long talks.

The laundry room needed some serious happifying. Now I don't mind going in there.

(In case you can't make it out, the clock says "laundry laundry laundry" all the way around...it was my own original idea and I made it myself...sometimes I can be creative, go me!)
Thank you my blogging public for coming to visit my site and giving me another chance. It shan't happen again...hopefully.

Why am I always the first to comment? Am I a blog-stalker? Love the pics--Had a great time, lost some precious sleep, but you're worth it. BTW I was waiting for a "Clark was out playing with his dingy" joke...??

I LOVE LOVE LOVE what you have done with your house. It was cute before but now it is fabulous! AND, I am so relieved to find a new blog from you....now if we could just get Carrie to do something about that stupid Gastineaux Girls blog. Thank you for sharing Em. I can't wait to see you and Mia tomorrow!

I can't imagine your house ever being anything but adorable. It looks great. I hope Clark hit Kaminsky's while in SC. I love dingy jokes too.

Love it, love it, and love it. I even wish I could have been there to paint with you all to have some good ol' cousin time.

I'm a little late here, I realize. But I love your new color all the same! Will you make me a laundry clock, too? I love your happy little laundry room! :)

P.S. It was so fun seeing you in Utah. I hope you are adjusting to going back to "real life" again. I'm sure your girls missed you something aweful. I miss you already!

So, so, so cute! Why didn't I get a lick of what all the rest of y'all got? Your laundry room is so fun...and how often do those words ever come together in a sentence? When we're done purging C's house, can we put polka-dots somewhere in mine?
